Low-income citizens eligible for federal mortgage monies
Public meeting tonight
A town hall meeting, open to the public, is scheduled for tonight, Thursday,July 17, at 6 p.m. in council chambers at City Hal to explain a governmental mortgage program for low-income citizens of Cleveland. The program, offered through the US Department of Agriculture, Rural Development division, offers low-interest , no down payment loans, to purchase existing homes, build new structures, or renovate current housing. Grants, requiring no repayment, are available to senior citizens for correcting safety and health hazards at their current dwelling. Representatives from the USDA Rural Development department will be on hand to explain the program, and to answer any questions citizens might have about the program. Everyone is encouraged to attend.

Hospital breaking ground for expanded ER
Threatening winds and rains from hurricane Claudette didn't dampen the spirits of the large crowd assembled for groundbreaking ceremonies at Cleveland Regional Wednesday morning. Held outside under a large tent, the ceremony featured remarks from Ron MacLaren, chief executive officer; Jill Kirkonis, chairman of the board of directors; and Cleveland Mayor Monique McDufie-Davis. The construction program will more than double the size of the current emergency room, and make substantial renovations to the existing operating room, laboratory,registration services,and intensive care unit. Supply materials for the start of construction are expected to be on site the first of August. See next week's Cleveland Advocate for details on the ceremony and expansion program.

Revival service scheduled at King of Saints
Noted prophetic speaker Owens Edge will be speaking one night only - this Saturday,July 19,at 6 p.m..- at King of Saints Tabernacle,2210 Route 9, FM 1725, in Cleveland. Edge, who currently serves as President of a missionary organization - Arbol DeVida - involving close to 100 churches in Mexico, ministers in the areas of prophecy and healing's. Funeral Services Scheduled
Service arrangements through Pace-Stancil Funeral Home in Cleveland for Joseph "Joe" Emmett Johnson Sr. are pending. Services for John Bosnich are scheduled for Thursday, July 17, at 10 a.m. at Pace-Stancil/Probst Chapel, with interment taking place at 2 p.m. at Oakwood Cemetery in Huntsville. Graveside services for Hebert Edwards are scheduled for 11 a.m. Thursday, July 17, at Laurel Hil Cemetery in Coldspring.

Police Department Stats
Cleveland Police and Fire Departments logged the following calls for Monday, July 14: A total of 41 general calls, 3 alarm calls, 2 fire calls, and 17 (911) calls Seventeen ambulance calls were recorded and 2 vehicular accidents. Three offenses were noted, including debit card abuse, theft, and burglary of a business. On Tuesday, July 15, there were 13 ambulance calls and 4 accidents resulting in 1 subject being transported to Cleveland Regional. General calls totaled 45; alarm calls 2; fire calls 2; and 911 calls, 11. Three offenses were noted, including two thefts and one terrorists threat. One arrest was made.

Texan Theatre Movie Listings
Charlie's Angels, rated PG-13. Starting Friday will be the animated movie Sinbad, rated PG, with the voice of Brad Pit. Show times Friday and Saturday are 7 and 9 p.m. Admission is $2 per child, ages 3-11, and $4 for adults.
