Chili lunch today to benefit fire victims
Proceeds from a chili luncheon today at the log cabin in Stancil Park will go to benefit the victims of last week's fire at Sleepy Hollow apartments. Homemade chili, cornbread, desserts and a drink will be available for $5 a ticket from noon until the food runs out. Tickets can be purchased at Cleveland city hall or at the door.
The idea for the benefit chili luncheon came out of Cleveland city hall and the Cleveland police department as they sought for ways to help the three peace officers who were affected by the fire. Cleveland PD Detective Scott Felts and Deputy Jeff Ashworth of the Liberty County Sheriff's department lost everything they owned in the blaze, including Christmas presents for Ashworth's two young children.

Franklin, from 8-5 Friday, Monday and Tuesday. High bidders will be notified after the Christmas holiday.

One man had a goatee, white shirt, blue jeans and a stocking cap, while the other was described as being heavyset.
